- 8 medium apples (about 3 lbs), cored and cubed
- 15 oz pumpkin purée
- ½ cup water
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp fine salt

Step-by-Step Preparation
Step 1
Add all the ingredients to a large pot and stir well. Cover and cook over low heat for 4 to 6 hours, until the apples are very soft and tender.
Step 2
For a chunky texture, mash with a potato masher. For a smoother consistency, blend using an immersion blender or a food processor.
Step 3
Once cooled, transfer to airtight containers. Store in the fridge for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
